Description

The Connoisseur Series Meyer Bros New York Alto Sax mouthpiece is a re-release of the famous model that Cannonball Adderley played, right down to the brass retention ring on the shank.

To be very clear, and from Babbitt themselves - 'the Meyer Bros NY Alto mouthpieces are not duplicates or replicas, these are molded in the original molds with the original cores and faced with the original facing cams. They are molded and vulcanized exactly as the originals were...but these are the real thing.'

The rubber compound is basically identical to the original models with the same hardness and density. The hand finishing is meticulously performed by only the very best and most experienced specialists in the Meyer team. Each mouthpiece is reviewed and signed off by the premier 'Connoisseur' finishing craftsmen.

This model is available in four facings: 5M, 6M, 7M and 8M. Meyer Bros New York and leading US Saxophonist Mike Smith have created the perfect blend of flexible, warm, dark alto sax sound along with plenty of power behind it.

  • The original Meyer Bros NY mouthpiece
  • Not a re-design or replica, these ARE the originals
  • Amazing quality sound for jazz & contemporary
  • Available in 5M, 6M, 7M and 8M

All our mouthpieces come with an adhesive mouthpiece cushion/ patch and are available on a 7 day trial (purchase a mouthpiece/ try out at home/ keep the cushion/ patch intact/ as long as the mouthpiece is returned to us within 7 working days in exactly the same condition, we will refund you)

A warm open sound that isn't stuffy

Great price, super fast dispatch and delivery - excellent customer service as always. The mouthpiece is lovely - from the design of the ligature to the crafting of the mouthpiece and, most importantly, the sound. A rich, fairly dark sound full of character and depth, not stuffy or closed. Good projection and a nice edge to the sound without being aggressive.
