This is a Conn New Wonder II (sometimes referred to as a Chu Berry) alto sax made in 1926 in Elkhart, Indiana, USA.

One of our favourite horns, the Conn New Wonders have a gorgeous, wonderful, fat tone and play great! There's a massive resurgence in these older Conns - many players are looking for that warmer, beefier sound that you can achieve on these rather than the standard Selmer focused tone.

It had a complete rebuild and repad with handmade pads by legendary sax tech Steve Crow 3 years ago and has been used seldomly since. Beautiful, original heavy silver plated finish (approx 80% intact).

TONE is HUGE! You will be noticed with this horn! It has a massive presence - super fat and incredibly easy to play - high end absolutely sings and the lower register is gorgeous. Tuning is great, action is very light and quick, keywork very compact and super slick - lots of fun to play!

Overall a very nice, super playing, vintage, American, classic horn with all the work done - these things are increasing in value every year and getting harder to find!
