WOW! What a belter! This is a super clean professional Yamaha 61 alto sax  made in Japan in 1968 - some lacquer wear, no dents, resolders etc.

Yamaha starting producing saxophones in 1967 after a 4 year development program and these first models ooze quality - a real competitor to the Selmer models being produced at the same time.

 The nearest new equivalent would be the modern 62 saxes but in reality if Yamaha were to re produce the 61 using the same materials and crafting  it would be triple the price!

Comes complete with case.

*REFURBISHED - a refurbished instrument has (at the very least) been stripped, washed, cleaned, polished, professionally rebuilt and set up to play perfectly. Worn corks, felts and pads will have been replaced, spring tensions balanced, key heights adjusted etc. Some instruments will have been completely overhauled using all new pads - any specialist work or customization will be included in the instrument description.
