This is a Super Pennsylvania made in Japan by Yanagisawa c. late 1960s.
A fantastic playing tenor in nice condition for age. Very easy to play and we think has a much bigger, beafier sound than the current Yanagisawa models - they were definitely aiming for the classic Selmer tone with this model!
Yanagisawa started manufacturing saxes in the 1950s but it wasn't until 1972 that they engraved their own name on a sax - usually they were made for other importers and badged with various names - however you can easily tell the Yanagisawa heritage and their logo is stamped by the serial number and on the neck octave key.
It has been fully stripped, washed and serviced with a pro rebuild (some new pads, corks, felts). It is finished in the original gold lacquer (approx 80% remaining) - it's definitely been played and is not in "showroom" condition - see photos - but has that honest, cool vintage vibe!
Tuning is great, action is very light and quick - a breeze to play.
Overall a very nice, super playing, classic Japanese horn with all the work done at a great affordable price!
Comes complete with a great condition made in USA SKB shaped flight case and of course, our famous 12 month warranty!
