Looking after a flute is relatively easy
but there are a few steps that can help
reduce the number of times you will get
your flute repaired.
One of the most common ways to damage a
flute is to bend the keys whilst putting
it together.
Below is a short film to show how to assemble
a flute correctly.
I would also add that taking your time to
put the flute together would also prevent
many of the repairs we fix.
Taking
the flute apart is basically the same
as assembling the flute, but in reverse.
After playing the flute it is a good idea
to give it a clean, as shown below.
These
measures won't prevent you ever needing
a repair on your flute but will certainly
help keeping it in playing order.
As with all instruments we would recommend
getting it serviced every two years. This
servicing is free for any new flute bought
from Curly Woodwind within two years of
purchasing.
