This is a C. G. Conn Transitional model (manufactured in the classic period when Conn were moving from the New Wonder II to the 10m) tenor sax made in 1931 in Elkhart, Indiana, USA.
It had a full rebuild last year (the complete works! new premium quality calf pads etc..) and we've just completed a full strip down service on it - it plays superbly!
This is from the great period of Conn manufacturing and is a superb example of a classic NWII/ Chu style Transitional. This one plays incredibly well - super slick, positive action, spot on intonation and an absolute classic, killer, Conn tone! This one is probably the warmest sounding Transitional we've played, super mellow, thick lushness - if you're looking for that authentic vintage Lester Young et al vibe, this is the one.
This sax is in lovely condition - very clean, a few little scuffs and so on but no horrible dings or dents (one post re solder) - a fine example of a Conn, it looks very pretty with that dark, honey lacquer (about 95% intact).
Comes complete with brand new shaped Gator case with shoulder strap and of course, our famous 12 month warranty!
